Hong Kong, Hong Kong - VCare Creation today is pleased to introduce RexNFoodbot 1.0 for iOS, its new puzzle game for young kids, where they must help Rex eat healthy foods and avoid junk food. After completing the first 6 levels, players reach the final level where they must help repair Rex's creation, Foodbot. All characters, objects, and backgrounds consist of touch sensitive, mixed-media collage, made from real fabrics, papers, tiles, and drawings. Free of the electronic glare of computer generated imagery, the app's lessons on good nutrition are enhanced by its hand-made, organic graphics.
Rex, a scientist, invented Foodbot, a robot that can produce tasty yet healthy food. However, Foodbot was mis-programmed. He has gone out of control, continuously generating different kinds of foods, including junk foods. The only way to fix the robot is entering six codes into it. Obtaining the six codes leads players on an adventure through six puzzles. Finally, they must solve the challenging seventh puzzle, working directly on Foodbot.
Feature Highlights:
* Funny characters with comical facial expressions, voices, and appearance
* 7 playful activities teach kids to classify different nutrient foods and the nutrients functions
* 7 delightful puzzle locations
* Attractive original artwork
* Kid- friendly interface
* No third-party advertising
* No in-app purchases
All seven are dexterity puzzles, requiring that the player make sure that Rex gets only one type of food (e.g., fiber), that his friend gets only one type of food (e.g., dairy), and that neither consumes junk food (e.g., candy). In Level 1, Rex is at the airport near the Baggage Conveyor Belt. This level is about vitamin C, and the goal is to feed Rex 10 oranges from among all the foods and baggage passing by on the conveyor belt. Players earn a check for each orange consumed and an "x" when they miss an orange or feed Rex another food. At the start of the level, players are reminded, "Vitamin C enhances immunity and helps healing." To level up, players must score at least 10 oranges and no more than 3 "x's." In the second half of the level, players must feed Rex 10 oranges or lemons. The dexterity required to drag the moving fruit to Rex's mouth is fairly high, and should prove sufficiently challenging for young children.
Level 2 takes place at the airport departure area, and players must drag Rex so that he eats fiber foods falling from the sky, but not pizza or cake. In addition, players must move Rex's friend so that he eats only the dairy products falling down. Level 3 is particularly tricky, as players must tilt their iDevice so that foods go through a complex puzzle of water pipes and into Rex, who is in the bathtub. Foods can get stuck in a dead end or slide off the screen permanently.
Level 4 finds Rex still in the tub, covered with soap bubbles. A variety of foods is flying in from the left of the screen, and players must swivel Rex's umbrella to block all foods except dairy. Level 5 takes place in a restaurant, and players must tilt their iDevice so Rex eats only the vegetables falling from above. Standing in the middle of the restaurant's kitchen, in Level 6 the goal is to move the wok to shield Rex from all oncoming food except fish. Finally, Level 7 is a timed puzzle where players must tilt healthy foods through complex ductwork and feed Foodbot through the correct intake.
"RexNFoodbot is a great way for your kid to learn about nutrition, while solving puzzles that help develop dexterity and hand/eye coordination," stated Vincent Choy of VCare Creation. "We are especially proud of the collage graphics, where kids can enjoy a game that uses real materials with real textures."
